Whilst reading up on spring fashion, I happened to stumble across the most unusual bout of controversy surrounding Lil Wayne and a particular streetwear brand that has been on the rise in recent years - UNIF. Of course, all of this turned out to be the product of none other than the cradle of unbridled idiocy: Youtube. This video points to the rapper's choice of UNIF garments featuring "Illuminati symbolism" as evidence of his puppet-like manipulation by the government in order to exert mind control over the population, or something (pictured sporting UNIF's "End is at Hand" t-shirt).
Anyways, UNIF does seem to be capitalizing on the popular resurgence of New Age ideology and symbolism in this end-of-days era for their 2012 Spring Collection, fittingly titled "Go to Hell for Heaven's Sake." Witty and often offensive, the new spring line manifests as a fusion of 70's and 90's style with a punky, grunge edge (some items feature smiley faces, others suspiciously nazi-like symbols). Printed t-shirts are a leading feature in the collection, as is with the majority of streetwear companies. Some of them I would use as a rag to wax my car, some I could definitely see myself tossing on over a pair of shorts and heading to the beach, or skatepark, or like, the apocalypse or whatever dude. So what 's your opinion of their designs? ...Not that it matters or anything. Shop the collection here.
