Granted everyone has probably seen this image or one of the other art installations from this exhibit over the weekend floating on the web. But I am gonna still write about it because you might not know the background story behind it. Japanese artist Haroshi created six extremely unique works of art with old, used skate decks. The 200 decks used to create these artworks were skated by Dennis Busenitz, Peter Ramondetta, Tommy Guerrero, and none other than Keith Hufnagel himself. Sticking with name dropping each piece is unique to each skater.
(Keith and Haroshi)
The most widely known one cause it is quite simply the loudest, represents Peter Ramondetta
My pesonal favorite is the dog head made to resemble Busenitz's dog, Gary.
P.S. Most pieces were sold practically the same night the exhibit opened. For roughly $20,000-$30,000.
